Who we are
VectorFlow is provided by nthState Ltd, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Contact us at contact@nthstate.com with privacy questions or requests.
This notice covers the VectorFlow website, the current Mac and iPad app, and enquiries sent to us.
When you visit the website
Your browser sends technical information, including your IP address, requested pages, browser details and request time, so our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS), can deliver and protect the site. We use AWS S3 and CloudFront for hosting and content delivery.
The site has no advertising or analytics trackers, and does not set cookies or use browser storage to track you. Fonts, screenshots and video are served from our own site. There are no sign-up forms, accounts or checkout on this website.
Our lawful basis for necessary delivery and security processing is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website. Private preview access uses a shared password; it is not an individual user account.
Your artwork and the app
VectorFlow processes your graphs and artwork on your device. The current app does not send your documents to nthState Ltd or include third-party analytics. Your getting-started and preview-background preferences are stored locally.
A saved graph can include author metadata taken from your device’s user name, along with the content you create. Check that information before sharing a document. Files you choose to save or share through iCloud or another storage provider are also subject to that provider’s privacy settings and terms.
You control your documents and can delete them from the locations where you save them. If you choose to email us a document, we handle it as part of your enquiry.
When you contact us
If you email contact@nthstate.com, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and any attachments. Providing these details is voluntary, but we need a way to reply if you want a response. Please send only the information needed to explain your enquiry.
We use this information to answer questions, investigate reported problems and maintain a record of the assistance provided. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in helping people use VectorFlow and resolving enquiries. If an enquiry concerns entering into or fulfilling a contract with you, we may also process the necessary details on that basis.
We do not add people who contact support to a marketing mailing list, sell their personal information, or use it for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Service providers and international processing
Hosting and content-delivery providers process technical request information. Our email service provider processes support correspondence on our behalf. We may also share information with professional advisers or authorities where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
AWS operates internationally, so website delivery can involve processing outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted international transfer is necessary, our policy is to use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your information.
How long information is kept
Our support-retention policy is to delete routine correspondence and attachments within 12 months after an enquiry is resolved. We may retain relevant records longer where an enquiry remains open, a dispute is ongoing, or a legal obligation requires it. In those cases, retention is limited to what is needed for that purpose.
We do not configure visitor access logs for this website. Our hosting provider may process operational and security records under its service terms; this is separate from analytics about how you use the site. App documents remain where you choose to save them until you delete them, subject to your storage provider’s backup and retention settings.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, or restriction of its use. Data portability applies where its legal conditions are met.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Contact contact@nthstate.com to exercise these rights. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You can raise a concern with us, and you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: make a complaint to the ICO.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when our services or information practices change. The date above identifies this version. If a change needs to be brought directly to affected people’s attention, we will use an appropriate way to do so.
